Hunter Plant
Located near New Braunfels, Texas, our Hunter plant supports one of the fastest-growing regions in the country. Combining decades of expertise with modern cement manufacturing capabilities, the plant has the capacity to produce nearly 2 million tons each year to meet customers’ most
demanding construction needs.
A talented team of about 200 members – among them mechanical and electrical engineers; quality control and laboratory technicians and chemical engineers; plant and kiln operators; and occupational health, safety and environmental specialists – run the plant, maintain equipment and control production. The logistics, marketing and sales teams work together to support customers.
Hunter manufactures a wide range of products, including traditional and advanced/blended cements engineered for evolving standards and project needs, that can be utilized to shape infrastructure, strengthen communities and keep Texas moving. For instance, the plant supplied cement to the
Highway 183 North Mobility Project, an effort designed to ease congestion and improve transportation in the Austin area. Hunter provided cement for the Cow Creek Bridge flood recovery, helping restore a critical roadway after severe flooding, and provided materials for Waterline in Austin, now the tallest building in Texas.
Hunter plant continues to focus on responsible operations and environmental performance. Emissions-control systems, alternative fuels and water conservation initiatives help support efficient manufacturing while keeping pace with the region’s rapid growth. The plant engages directly with the local community in programs designed to balance industrial activity with social responsibility, reflecting a shared commitment between the people who work at the plant and the neighbors.
The Hunter plant is also home to a Sapphire Americas facility, supporting alternative fuel solutions that help reduce waste and improve efficiency in cement manufacturing.
