Louisville Plant
Located in eastern Nebraska, our Louisville plant serves as a key hub for the company’s Midwest operations. The facility is the only cement manufacturing plant in the state and plays an important role in supplying traditional and blended cements for infrastructure and construction projects throughout the region, including roads, bridges, rural buildings and other essential infrastructure across Nebraska.
With the capacity to produce over 1.1 million tons yearly, a talented team of over 130 people – among them mechanical and electrical engineers; quality control and laboratory technicians and chemical engineers; plant and kiln operators; and occupational health, safety and environmental specialists – run the plant, maintain equipment and control production, while the logistics and sales teams work together supporting customers.
The plant manufactures a wide range of products, from traditional to blended cements, engineered for evolving standards and project needs that customers can trust for their most demanding construction requirements.
Recently, the plant has taken an important step forward in advancing lower-carbon cement solutions. Louisville now produces a blended cement incorporating calcined clay. Sourced from abundant local clay deposits in Nebraska, Duracem® N minimizes exposure to supply chain disruptions associated with imported or increasingly scarce raw materials. Local sourcing reduces transportation emissions, improves delivery reliability and supports regional economies while ensuring stable pricing and consistent availability.
The Louisville plant is also home to a Sapphire Americas facility, supporting alternative fuel solutions that help reduce waste and improve efficiency in cement manufacturing.
Local schools and organizations recognize the Louisville plant for its consistent contributions, from educational events to playgrounds and sport amenities. It’s a reminder that our facilities aren’t just cement makers, they’re neighbors and contributors to the communities of which they are part.
