Modernizing America’s Infrastructure

MARCH 20, 2026 – During Women in Construction Week, some of Ash Grove incredible women had the privilege of representing CRH on the Capitol Hill to advocate for the infrastructure investments that keep America building.

They connected with like-minded talent in the construction sector to discuss the importance of modernizing America’s infrastructure to pave the way for greater prosperity.

With investment in core infrastructure at a pivotal moment, attendees met and engage with legislators to emphasize the importance of timely legislation that strengthens long-term infrastructure funding.

We are in the final year of Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) reauthorized surface transportation programs for FY2022–FY2026, which expires on September 30, 2026.

Pass Surface Reauthorization requires $600B over the next 5 years to focus on the construction of roads and bridges. The permit reform streamlines infrastructure projects, and the funding formula gives states flexibility to meet local needs.Multi-year funding provides stability so the industry can plan, hire, and deliver projects efficiently. It supports long-term maintenance, safety, and modernization while preventing funding gaps and delays

Currently, roughly 39% of major U.S. roadways are rated in “poor” or “mediocre” condition, creating higher operating costs for motorists and freight carriers and elevating safety risks. Sustained and predictable funding helps minimize shortfalls, reduces deferred maintenance backlogs, and supports safer roads and bridges.

We cannot build a 21st-century economy on 20th-century roads. Without decisive action, our efforts to reindustrialize America will overwhelm our roads, highways, and bridges across the country that were designed for a previous era.

Proud to see our teams helping shape policies that support communities, strengthen infrastructure, and advance the construction industry.
