Health & Safety

Protecting our People, our Customers, and our Property

We will periodically identify those aspects of our operations on a local level which have the most significant
health, safety, and security impact, and establish objectives and targets for continuous improvement in these
areas. In particular, we will work to advance the following aspects within our operations:

  • Eliminating and reducing all workplace injuries and incidents.

  • Eliminating and reducing high risks activities for the protection of our employees as well as critical operations.

  • Eliminating and reducing violence in the workplace, physical, and natural disaster risks.

  • Communicating with each employee’s ownership of ensuring safe practices and conditions are developed, maintained, and continuously improved upon.

Safety, health, and security targets and objectives will be set by senior leadership, communicated to employees, measured, and tracked on a regular basis, and revised as needed to reflect current conditions. In order to facilitate this, Ash Grove will provide appropriate training and resources for associates to use responsible safety, health, and security practices.

We require our associates to make sound safety, health, and security management an integral part of their job. All associates have and will always have Stop Work Authority to protect themselves, the organization, and our customers.  We stand with a simple philosophy of When I See Something and Will Stop and Do Something to drive a relentless effort to continuously improve.  Leadership will demonstrate safety, health, security, and environmental leadership and help build a culture across the company where all employees embrace this policy and these guiding principles as their responsibility.

Ash Grove believes that leading health, safety, and security performance contributes to our competitive strength and benefits our employees, stakeholders, and customers.  The safety of our workforce and the protection of our environment are of primary importance and unparalleled.  To protect our employees, customers, and our property, we are committed to:

  • Providing a safe and healthy working environment as a prerequisite to our operations

  • Foster the growth of a learning organization that challenges our norms to drive towards world class.

  • Engage all personnel at our locations because those closest to the work should have the most to say about it.

  • Continuous improvement in minimizing our operational impacts.

  • Relentlessly educate of risks to our operations

Ash Grove will comply with applicable health and safety laws, directives, regulations and other requirements as a baseline for doing business, not as a goal. We believe compliance is owned by all associates and will monitor such compliance through regular self-assessments and audits of our operations, take corrective actions as warranted, and include compliance sustainability as a routine part of operations.
